Procedure to Approve Distributors for
Production of Hose Products

1.0 PURPOSE

The purpose of this procedure is to qualify and maintain records of distributors who are approved to fabricate hose products.

2.0 SCOPE

This procedure covers TRC, CB, CTH, SBT, and CPB hoses in sizes 1/2" - 2.

3.0 PROCEDURE

3.1 Supply distributor with initial component package. To certify one fabricator (person) at each fabricating facility. See section 4.0.

3.2 Distributor is to fabricate hoses as specified by Crane Resistoflex. Size of hose and type of fittings may vary. A minimum of four hoses 20" long should be provided. Hoses should be manufactured per procedure "Distributor Fabrication Procedures for Crane Resistoflex TRC, CB, CTH, SBT, and CPB hoses".

3.3 The distributor should submit the hose assemblies, along with completed inspection sheets to Resistoflex.

3.4 Resistoflex will inspect each hose verifying to enclosed inspection sheets.

3.5 Two samples will be selected to burst. To qualify, the hose must meet minimum burst pressures. The other two samples will be cut at the crimps for evaluation.

3.6 Upon approval of a distributor, the Hose Product Manager will maintain a record of approved operators for each distributor and send a certificate of qualification. These records will be maintained for the duration of the distributor as a certified manufacturer. To qualify additional operators at an approved facility, the distributor will furnish materials for assembly as specified by Resistoflex. The certified operator will ensure the candidate is properly instructed in the required procedures. On successful testing of the hoses, the certified operator and the supervisor will attest to the successful pressure test and submit by letter to the Hose Product Manager, who will issue a completed certificate.

3.7 Any distributor whose samples are found unacceptable will be sent a written analysis of the evaluation by Resistoflex. Distributors may resubmit samples for evaluation.
